The personal data that you provide will be used to process your application to register an interest to self-build and maintain the self-build register. We will also contact you with information that we consider may be relevant or helpful to your interest.  We collect supporting information to assess if you meet the eligibility criteria. Further details can be found on our website at Self-build and custom build homes. For the purpose of processing the payment, we collect your bank and account details. Our lawful basis for processing your personal data is set out in The Self-Build and Custom Housebuilding Regulations 2016. You must complete and submit the appropriate form and pay the appropriate fee in order for us to process your application. If the form is incomplete or payment is not made, we will not be able to process your application.

We will enter the details submitted on the application form onto the custom and self-build register. Your personal data will be shared within relevant departments at the Council, and with any third party who we consider may be of interest to you such as a developer in order to put parties in touch with each other. 

Your personal information that you provide will be kept for as long as is necessary and in accordance with our retention policy. You have the right to access your personal information and to complain if you think your information has been used incorrectly or unfairly; you may also have other rights that apply.
