Kings Hill Masterplan and Design Code SPD

Latest news

The Kings Hill Masterplan and Design Code Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) was adopted at the Warwick District Cabinet meeting on 10 June 2026.

The adopted SPD provides supplementary guidance to relevant policies in the adopted Warwick District Council Local Plan (2011-2029). This includes Policy DS15 - Comprehensive Development of Strategic Sites – which outlines that a comprehensive development scheme is required for the entirety of the H43 allocation (allocated for 4,000 dwellings and associated infrastructure). The adopted SPD will be used to make decisions on future planning applications within the allocation area.

A six-week consultation on the draft SPD was held from 13 February to 27 March 2026. The consultation was undertaken in accordance with the Council’s adopted Statement of Community Involvement with documents available online and hard copies provided for inspection at deposit points. Statutory consultees were notified of the consultation, as well as those on the Council’s planning policy consultation database. Press releases were issued to advertise the consultation. Comments could be submitted by post, email or via the online planning policy consultation portal.

A total of 237 responses were received to the consultation. Those responses and officer comments (including changes to the SPD) are included in the table of responses and officer comments.

Any person with sufficient interest in the decision to adopt the SPD can apply to the High Court for permission to apply for a judicial review of that decision. Any such application must be made promptly and, in any event, no later than 3 months from the date on which the document was adopted.

Consultation closed on Friday 27 March 2026.
