There are several ways you can pay council tax
Please note: Since 1st July 2016 we no longer accept cheque payment via post or in person at any council office.
Set up or update a direct debit payment. Most people pay by direct debit. We have a choice of payment dates available: 1st, 5th, 10th, 15th, 20th and 25th of the month.

Take your bill, with its barcode, and payment to any Post Office or PayPoint outlet - to pay by cheque visit the Post Office. If you currently have a plastic council/Allpay payment card you can also use this to make a payment. Payments made by credit/debit card at PayPoint are at the discretion of the retailer and may incur a charge.

Please note that none of the council offices have facilities for taking payments.
Help to pay your bill
If you are in receipt of Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance, Pension Credit or on a low income, you may qualify for a reduction in your council tax. This is called council tax reduction. You may also get help if you are of pension age and share your home with another adult, or adults, who are on a low income. This is called second adult rebate. This is not available to those who are not of pension age. If you think you may qualify contact us straight away. Any delay could lose you benefit.
