The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) is a statutory requirement under Section 18 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act (2004) as amended (2008). The SCI formally sets out the policy and standards for engaging residents, local groups, stakeholders and statutory consultees in preparing development plans and any relevant documents identified in the Local Development Scheme and how the Council will consult on planning applications.

The Council carried out a public consultation on the updated Statement of Community Involvement seeking people's comments. This consultation ran for a period of six weeks from Monday 17 July - Tuesday 29 August 2023.

Adopted Statement of Community Involvement

The SCI was approved by Council on 27 January 2016, the document can be downloaded below.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, a minor amendment was approved to the SCI, and the updated SCI can be downloaded below.

Preparing the SCI

Warwick District Council published a revised Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) for a six week consultation period from 5 October to 16 November 2015.
