Motionhouse

Care to Dance? at The Sycamores
Motionhouse delivered 10 dance and movement workshops for residents at The Sycamores care home in Sydenham, led by Dance Artist Camilla Lloyd. Residents, including those with dementia and mobility challenges, looked forward to the sessions each week. One 104-year-old resident led rhythms for the group, while another made Camilla a bouquet to say thank you. A professional duet performance closed the project, bringing joy to residents, families, and staff. “It brought everyone closer together,” said care staff. The project improved confidence, mobility, and wellbeing through creative, inclusive activity.

Escape Arts

Escape Arts: Live Music at Warwick Hospital
Escape Arts brought live music onto the wards of Warwick Hospital, reaching over 140 patients, staff, and visitors through uplifting performances. The sessions created moments of connection and joy — one patient said, “You have transported me to another place!” NHS staff commented on the positive impact: “We can see the difference it makes.” Volunteer musicians performed lunchtime concerts in public spaces, turning hospital corridors into places of comfort and community. This pilot project has opened the door to future music and wellbeing work in healthcare. Funded by Warwick District Council Arts Grants.

Leamington Music

Leamington Music: Expanding Education & Community Outreach
Leamington Music used its grant to appoint an Education Co-ordinator, strengthening its capacity to deliver high-quality music education and outreach. The role enabled 13 school workshops, a live-stream reaching over 8,800 young people, and new partnerships across Warwick District. The project built a strong foundation for future work, expanded networks, and attracted new funding. “It was genuinely brilliant and inspiring to all the children and staff,” said one teacher. Leamington Music now has a clearer strategy and the infrastructure to grow its education programme across schools and communities.
