Current Stage


The independent Examination of the Burton Green Neighbourhood Development Plan is now complete. The Examination Report was received on 15th May 2021. The report recommends a number of modifications to the Submission Version of the BGNDP. Subject to these modifications being made, the Examiner has recommended that the neighbourhood development plan may proceed to referendum.

Submission Plan Consultation

Burton Green Parish Council (the Qualifying Body) formally submitted the Burton Green Neighbourhood Development Plan (BGNDP) to Warwick District Council as the Local Planning Authority.  The BGNDP is subject to a period of public consultation in accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations. The consultation period ran for eight weeks between 28 September 2020 and 23 November 2020.

SEA Screening

A Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) Screening Opinion was prepared in respect of the draft Burton Green Neighbourhood Development Plan. This is available below, along with the responses from the statutory bodies. It is concluded that no SEA is required.

Regulation 14 Consultation

Burton Green Parish Council has carried out a public consultation on the draft Burton Green Neighbourhood Plan, in accordance with Regulation 14 of the Neighbourhood Planning Regulations. The consultation ran between 2 December 2019 and 27 January 2020.

Neighbourhood Area Designation

The Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) area was designated by Executive on 5th November 2014. During 2017, Warwick District Council (WDC) amended the Burton Green Ward boundary. In 2019, Burton Green Parish Council applied to WDC to change the Burton Green NDP area, and this was approved in 3 September 2019 after a 6 weeks consultation period.
