A cross will be displayed on screen. With left clicks, draw around the search site. Bring the final point back to the start. |

When the closing point is in range, left click it to complete the search polygon. The last point will be indicated with a slightly larger red dot with a glow around it. The cursor will also change to a ‘hand’. Once the search area has been defined, the system will display the results (if any) down the left hand side. Any results will also be highlighted on the map to show their extents. The search polygon should be sightly inside the boundary of the property, this will minimise any unwanted results from neighbouring sites. |

In this example, a Listed Buiding, Planning Application boundary and a Tree Preservation Order location are shown. |

Simple draw options can also be employed if the search area is complicated; the other options are a rectangle or circle. To use one of these draw options, select the required function from the Define Search Area box. Click on the map and whilst holding down the mouse button, drag the shape out to the required size, then release the mouse button. This system will now perform a search based upon the drawn area. |
