Preliminary works including archaeological investigations and the disconnection of existing services are currently taking place at Castle Farm.

These are the final preparations being made for the planned development of a brand-new leisure centre for Kenilworth.

This scheduled work precedes the imminent signing of contracts with AR Demolition and Kier, which will allow the redevelopment to begin.

Warwick District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Economy and Culture, Councillor Liam Bartlett commented:

“We are pleased that activity has begun on site and will be making an announcement very soon with a start date for construction of these exciting new facilities.”

During the works the skate park and children’s playground will remain open to the public, along with access to the wider countryside.

The project will see the replacement of the existing recreation centre with a multi-million-pound facility featuring a sports hall, 80 station gym and fitness studios.

Further updates on the Castle Farm Recreation Centre and Abbey Fields Swimming Pool redevelopment plans will be made available on the Warwick District Council website.
