Local artist Sue Southorn voted most popular artwork at the recent Spark creative conference organised by Warwick District Councils Arts Team

The Spark conference aimed to turn talk into action and galvanise the area’s creative business community around a common purpose of recovery, promotion and growth of the sector.

As well as hosting a variety of talks, there was a virtual art gallery showcasing artwork and sculptures by 40 local artists, including Sue Southorn a landscape and abstract artist based in Warwick who was winner of most popular artwork with ‘Back to blue with a hint of pink’, this was gifted to local photographer Will Phillips who was the most active conference participant.

David Guilding, Arts Manager at Warwick District Council said:

“The Spark creative conference has helped continue the hard work that was started last year by the Arts Team to galvanise and bring together our creative community during the past year. This virtual art gallery showed some creative talent that Warwick District has to offer, and I would like to congratulate Sue Southorn on winning the popular artwork at the conference.”

This year’s conference was centred around five core themes: voice, place making, pathfinding, engagement and innovation. Over 540 people attended the online event and if you could not attend all 37 hours of content is available on the Spark YouTube Channel
