Following the postponement of the planned programme of live music in the Pump Room Gardens this year, Warwick District Council is planning to kick off 2021 with a special event.

The event will be dedicated to those in our district who have been affected by the COVID-19.

‘BandStand Together’ will be a unique online gig recorded virtually and broadcast on Facebook and YouTube. To provide the playlist, the Council’s Green Spaces team is making a call to local people to dedicate a song to someone who has made a difference in the community or has had a particularly difficult time due to the pandemic.

Warwick District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood Services Councillor Moira-Ann Grainger commented;

“The events of the past ten months have touched the lives of many in our district, this is a fantastic opportunity to say thank you or remember someone special. We’re hoping for lots of nominations.”

A selection of the dedicated songs will be performed by local musicians who the Council is inviting to play for a nominal fee. Those interested in taking part should contact greenspaces@warwickdc.gov.uk for more information.

The closing date to nominate a song is Sunday 3 January 2021.
