Further to the government’s confirmation of a national lockdown and new COVID-19 restrictions, Warwick District Council will be closing all of its public outdoor sports facilities.

The closures will come in to effect on Thursday 5 November 2020.

The amenities include;

  • Football pitches and pavilions managed by the Council
  • Tennis courts managed by the Council - Abbey Fields, St Nicholas Park, Victoria Park and Christchurch Gardens
  • Edmondscote Athletics Track and its gym and pavilion
  • Skate parks, including Victoria Park and Castle Farm

Whilst the parks will remain open, the Council will be suspending all exercise permits for group activities.

Warwick District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Culture, Councillor Moira-Ann Grainger commented;

“It is with utmost regret that the Council has been forced to close these facilities for a second time. However, our overwhelming priority has to be the health and safety of all of our residents. These measures have been put in place to save lives and protect our NHS and we urge local residents to play their part.”
