Warwick District Council has set aside any political differences to unite in its determination to support all our residents during the coronavirus pandemic.

We are working together to maintain our essential services, protect the NHS, and to save lives. We, the leaders of the five political groups on the Council, want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for what you are doing, but especially those who work in our hospitals, general practice, care homes, those in the emergency services, our food stores, pharmacies, banks, delivery and postal services.

We are also deeply grateful to those who continue to collect our waste, keep our towns and villages clean, and maintain our wonderful green spaces. All of you are supported by an army of volunteers, numbered in their thousands, who are the glue of our communities and without whom we could not have achieved so much. Together we Clap for Carers every Thursday. But that deep-felt appreciation also extends to all of you. We are proud of everything you are doing. We have not yet defeated the virus so there is so much more for all of us to do.

We in the political parties, in our Wards and Parishes, will do all we can to support your work as we deal with the crisis. But we are also looking forwards so that when we can come together once again as a community, and when our schools, businesses, and shops reopen, we have taken the right steps to ensure that our economy, our sporting, cultural, and social lives can recover as rapidly as possible.

Thank you again. Together we will come through this crisis stronger as a community. As we do, we will have you all to be grateful to and we wish you well as you continue to protect everyone in our community at this time.
