From Thursday 5 November to Wednesday 2 December there will be a lockdown in England.

Latest update on sports facilities availability across the district.

Leisure Centres

Following Government guidance, Abbey Fields Swimming Pool, Castle Farm Recreation Centre, St Nicholas Park Leisure Centre and Newbold Comyn Leisure Centre are now closed.

Grass football pitches

The following grass football pitches have now been closed for the rest of the season:

  • Newbold Comyn
  • Harbury Lane
  • Castle Farm
  • St Nicholas Park
  • St Marys Lands

These should not be used as annual maintenance will start shortly in order to ensure the pitches are in the best possible condition for next season.

Athletics track

The Edmondscote athletics track will be closed from Friday 20 March until further notice.

Bowls England

Bowls England has announced cancellation of all Bowls England events across the country for the 2020 season, including the National Championships held annually in Leamington Spa.

The Council are liaising with local bowls clubs about the scheduled start of the local bowls season and will keep the situation under review in the coming weeks.

Tennis courts

All tennis courts are now closed until further notice.

Parkrun

Parkrun have cancelled all national events, therefore the local Parkrun events at Newbold Comyn (Leamington) and St Mary's Lands (Warwick Racecourse) are cancelled until further notice.

Updates

The closures will be for an undetermined period of time and will remain under review in line with government advice. This is a fast changing situation and we will update our customers as soon as we can as things change. All our parks and public open spaces remain open at this stage, perfect for getting out and about, enjoying some fresh air and getting some exercise.
