Following Warwick District Council’s purchase of 25 homes in Barford for affordable housing earlier this year, tenants are now settling into the village.

The houses and bungalows on Bremridge Close were bought from developer Taylor Wimpey and fifteen have been made available by the Council at social rent levels.

Mrs Hall who moved into her new Council bungalow over the summer commented;

“Following illness and family tragedy I am very pleased that the Council has been able to offer me a forever home.”

Warwick District Council’s portfolio holder for Housing Services, Cllr Jan Matecki added;

“As we mark 100 years since the first ever Council houses were built in our district, this new scheme is one of several we are planning to bring forward over the next few years to increase the Council’s housing stock to include social rented homes.”
