You can now earn rewards for walking, cycling or using public transport in Leamington Spa thanks to a new app-based rewards programme, ‘Choose How You Move Leamington Spa’, powered by BetterPoints, a behaviour change platform.

The programme aims to encourage anyone who lives, works, shops in or visits Leamington to log their green travel in return for BetterPoints that are redeemable on the high street, or can be donated to charity.

Simply download the BetterPoints app from the App Store or Google Play and you’ll automatically be entered in to the Leamington scheme.

How does it work?

You can set the app to automatically track your activity by clicking the play symbol in the top right-hand corner of the app, which will enable you to automatically earn BetterPoints for your sustainable travel in and out of Leamington town centre. The app will ask you to confirm your activity throughout the day to ensure the correct activity has been logged.

Alternatively, you can tell the app that you’re about to start an activity and it will track you until you confirm you’ve finished. If you choose not to have automatic tracking, you will need to do this every time you travel as you will not be able to retrospectively log your journey.

You must complete a minimum distance of 0.5 miles to earn BetterPoints. You will earn a minimum of 25 BetterPoints for every sustainable journey you make in and out of Leamington.

Park & Stride

We know that ditching the car isn’t always possible, but you can earn BetterPoints by parking in one of our Park & Stride car parks and finishing your journey on foot.

Park in Court Street, Bath Place, Packington Place or Riverside House (Saturday and Sunday only) and walk at least 0.5 miles to earn your BetterPoints.
