Warwick folk festival 2013 94 Published: Thursday, 12th July 2018

As Warwick prepares for its annual Folk Festival, the retailers and small businesses in Smith Street are getting ready for their own party for this special and sometimes forgotten part of town.

Over the years the Party on Smith Street, has become a staple part of the Warwick Folk Festival, with the many and varied independent shops, restaurants and businesses coming outside onto the street to join the celebrations, alongside entertainers, craft stalls, street food and a programme of live music until late in the evening.  This year’s event, which is being organised by the Events Team at Warwick District Council is no exception with a full day of activity for the whole family to enjoy;

Warwick District Council’s Portfolio Holder for Business, Councillor Noel Butler commented;

“This year's Party on Smith Street is a celebration of the many independent businesses both old and new that combine to make Smith Street so special.  These are challenging times for our retailers and I very much hope that those visiting the Festival will come along and join in the fun and also see the individual delights the shops have to offer from bespoke clothing, unusual gift ideas, hair & beauty treatments and a variety of food options. Smith Street is a delightful area to explore and whether you're new to Warwick or not, the Party will be sure to give you a reason to return.”

The Smith Street Party takes place on Saturday 28 July from 10am to 8pm. #seeyouonsmithstreet
