Warwick District Council’s Executive has agreed to further develop its close relationship with Kenilworth School and Sixth Form.

Warwick District Council’s Executive has agreed to further develop its close relationship with Kenilworth School and Sixth Form by entering into negotiations with them for the purchase of their current Sixth Form site at Rouncil Lane.

The Local Plan for Warwick district has allocated land at South Crest Farm for a new School and Sixth Form, thereby freeing-up the School’s current sites at Rouncil Lane and Leyes Lane for housing. Warwick District Council sees the development of its partnership with Kenilworth School as an opportunity to support the realisation of the School's plan for opening its new education and community facilities in 2021.

Leader Warwick District Council, Cllr Andrew Mobbs, said:

“I am delighted to be working in partnership with the School to help deliver a School that the town deserves as well as much needed housing for our growing population. Whilst the plans are in the early days, we’ll be doing all that we can to see them delivered.”

Kenilworth School and Sixth Form Chair of Governors, Sue Casey said:

“We look forward to working in partnership with Warwick District Council, other local authorities and Homes England to provide improved education facilities for the children of Kenilworth.  We are delighted to be given an opportunity to create a purpose-built secondary school fit for the 21st Century. In the meantime, we will continue to provide a high quality education for the students of Kenilworth at our existing sites.”
