  1. Reducing greenhouse gas emissions
  2. Adapting and building resilience to climate change
  3. Conserving and enhancing biodiversity
  4. Reducing waste, increasing recycling or supporting the circular economy
  5. Research which enables access to more significant funding applications

Applicants are encouraged to read the detailed guidance notes and FAQs before applying, to ensure their application meets the criteria.

The first round of funding applications will close on 30 September 2026 with decisions made by 31 October 2026.

Councillor Hema Yellapragada, Portfolio Holder for Decarbonisation, said:

“I’m delighted to confirm that the first round of funding is now open for applications. Communities are at the heart of creating meaningful and impactful change, and we’re proud to support their initiatives for a greener and healthier district through this fund. I would encourage any councils, community groups, schools and charities to apply.”
