Warwick District Council’s Bereavement Services team is inviting the community to an open day at Oakley Wood Crematorium on Saturday 9 May from 10am to 1pm.

Visitors will be able to take a behind the scenes tour of the crematorium to understand more about the process and how the team provide great care and attention for loved ones.

The event will also see the opening of the Little Oaks Baby Memorial Garden at Oakley Wood, a tranquil and peaceful space dedicated for babies and infants, providing their families a place to sit and remember them. Visitors on the day will be able to paint a memory stone that they can leave in the garden or take home with them.

Councillor Will Roberts, Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhood, said: “This is a unique opportunity to learn more about the delicate work of our Bereavement Services team, who work so hard to provide a caring, professional service for families and loved ones at such a difficult time.

“Please do come along, enjoy a cup of tea and some cake, and ask any questions you may have.”

Tours of the crematorium will take place at 10:15am, 11:15am and 12:15pm.

The Little Oaks Baby Memorial Garden will be opened at 11am.
