A survey has today been launched to encourage the public, businesses, voluntary and community groups as well as town and parish councils, to share their thoughts on local government reorganisation.
Each of the District and Borough Councils (excluding Rugby) agreed at their meetings in July, that their preferred option was to reduce all the councils down to two – one in the north of Warwickshire and one in the south. Before councillors submit their final recommendation to government in November, this questionnaire provides the opportunity for all to share their views on this preferred option and to shape the future of local government.
The survey is being run by Opinion Research Services (ORS) and will be supported by focus groups and additional conversations with stakeholders.
An engagement booklet accompanies the survey, which summarises the options, and a microsite holds all this information, www.shapingourcouncils.co.uk.
