Warwick District Council is proud to support local arts organisations making a real impact through creativity.

Our Arts Project Grants fund inclusive, high-quality initiatives that bring people together and make the arts more accessible across the district. Two recent projects funded by the Arts Grants:

  • Dance in the Dark (Sonrisa Arts CIC) invited children aged 3 to 6 and their families into a world of movement and imagination through 15 workshops and two immersive performances. Sessions helped improve wellbeing, sleep routines and confidence - particularly for families facing social and financial barriers. One parent shared: “I leave the session feeling relaxed, happy and connected to my child, thank you.”
  • The Story Gardens of Warwick (Hill Close Gardens Trust) welcomed ESOL learners and their families through storytelling, poetry and art inspired by nature. Led by Dr Kate Rumbold in partnership with Warwickshire Adult and Community Learning, the project offered a peaceful space for reflection, creativity and community connection. One participant shared: “I feel very calm, very peaceful and very happy here.”

Councillor Ella Billiald, Portfolio Holder for Arts, Culture and Economy said:

“These creative projects are a great way for engaging, motivating and inspiring as they involve young children and their families. They bring communities together through creativity and take them on a journey that improves wellbeing without any social or financial barriers - making the arts more accessible for our diverse communities across the district.”
