New generation LED lighting will be installed at St Peter’s car park from 10 January 2024, bringing energy saving and carbon reduction measures to the multi-storey car park.

The work includes a complete upgrade to the lighting including presence detection and flexible dimming. The change will see the Council save approximately £36,000 per year in energy bills and provide a carbon emission saving of around 14 tonnes per year. The upgrade also provides safety and reassurance for users of the car park.

The Council’s contractors will begin from the top floor and work downwards; the floor they are working on will be temporarily closed whilst the work takes place. The Council apologises for the temporary disruption.

For any queries, please contact the Parking Service team at St Peter’s on 01926 314009.

Updates on the progress will be posted on the Council’s social media pages.
