In 2019, Warwick District Council declared a Climate Emergency, recognising the need to take urgent action on climate change. In 2022, this was followed by an Ecological Emergency declaration, recognising the serious decline in nature and wildlife.

These two challenges are closely linked, so we now refer to them together as a Climate and Nature Emergency.

This means we are committed to cutting carbon emissions and protecting and restoring nature across the district. It also means putting climate and nature at the centre of the decisions we make.
