At present, there is no formal public access to the country park. To open up the site safely for people of all ages and mobility levels, a new network of paths will be created. The paths have been designed to create loops.

A main 3-metre-wide tarmac shared walking and cycling route will run the full width of the country park and also north to south, covering approximately 5km.

Additional 1.8m-wide self-binding gravel paths provide pedestrian-only paths, providing links to features such as the play areas. A wider network of mown paths will be maintained for informal access within the wider park.

Access points to the main path are proposed from Europa Way, Marchant Way, Wesson Road, Rendell Gardens, Quercus Way and Oakley Wood Road (as shown on the red arrows on the masterplan). This will provide a traffic-free link for pupils at Oakley School and the major housing development.

The routes through the country park should connect to the cycleways along Harbury Lane and Oakley Wood Road which in turn link to the wider cycling routes to the north and Bishop’s Tachbrook village to the south.  There is a longer-term plan to introduce a footpath/cycle bridge over Europa Way which would then link to routes to the west of that road enabling linkages to the north along Fusiliers Way, Myton Road and into Warwick. Also planned is a bridge link to the south across the Tach Brook into the Asps development.
