Warwick District Council operates a small grants scheme for voluntary sports clubs and community groups within Warwick district.

Clubs/groups must have a constitution and bank account requiring at least two signatures. Grants are awarded up to a maximum of £500.

Deadline dates for 2019-20:

  • 22 May 2019
  • 17 July 2019
  • 25 September 2019
  • 27 November 2019
  • 22 January 2020
  • 11 March 2020

Sport and physical activity grants

Grants of up to £2000 available for sport or physical activity projects that take place in the following wards of Warwick District:

  • Sydenham
  • Brunswick
  • Willes
  • Whitnash

Applications are assessed twice a year.  Deadline dates for 2019/20: Friday 17th May 2019 and Friday 11th October 2019.

Priority will be given to projects that :

  • Increase opportunities for local people to participate in sport and physical activity in the identified areas.
  • Encourage new people to take up sport and physical activity.
  • Can demonstrate that there is a need for the project. For example, through providing evidence of any consultation that has taken place.
  • Can continue to be delivered after the grant has been used for initial delivery.

Sport England

Sport England invests in projects which help people start, stay and succeed in sport. There are various funding streams: Community and National. For further information visit the funding pages on the Sport England Website.

The Big Lottery Fund

The Big Lottery Fund is a new organisation that will hand out half the money for good causes from the National Lottery. Funding Programmes include the The Young Peoples Fund and the football foundation.
