The council’s licensing section is part of the Community Protection area and is responsible for issuing licences, permits and registrations for a wide range of activities. Its aim is to protect the public by achieving a high standard of public safety, and to prevent nuisance. Compliance code

From April 1st 2008, the Regulator's Compliance Code became compulsory. The Licensing Unit's enforcement policy refers to the Code.
