Leamington Spa Station improvement scheme

Major investment has been made in improving Leamington Spa’s station forecourt and pedestrian underpass as a direct result of Victoria Park being used as a Birmingham 2022 venue.

The enhancements at Leamington Spa Station have provided an uplift to a major part of the town’s travel infrastructure and provide a significant legacy in terms of the visitor experience and sustainable travel.

The improvements that have been made in relation to accessibility and the public realm are intended to help turn the station into a sustainable travel hub, with connectivity for pedestrians, cyclists and bus users being a central part of the design considerations. The works in the rail station pedestrian underpass support this ambition with enhanced CCTV, improved lighting, and renewed paintwork, creating a brighter and safer environment in the tunnel.

The striking new Leamington Colour Palette artwork that extends along the length of the underpass provides a colourful and positive welcome to visitors arriving to the town and helps to interpret the town’s history, heritage, and personality for users.
