Sensory stroll breathe inSensory stroll breathe out

Hello again, explorer!

You’ve found Sammy the Squirrel. He’s been rushing up and down the trees all morning collecting acorns and needs a little break. Let’s rest with him for a moment.

🌳 Tree Breathing Challenge

  1. Look around at the trees nearby.
  2. Take a deep breath in; the trees are giving you oxygen.
  3. Now breathe out; you’re giving the trees carbon dioxide.
  4. You’re helping each other stay alive.
  5. Nature and people really do breathe together.

🐿️ Squirrel Stretch

Pretend you’re Sammy getting ready for another adventure:

  • Stretch up high like you’re reaching for an acorn.
  • Curl down small like you’re hiding in a leaf pile.
  • Shake your tail, or your hands, to get ready to run again.
  • How fast can you move and still stay calm inside?

💡 Did You Know?
Real squirrels can climb trees faster than you can blink. They use their big fluffy tails for balance and to keep warm when they rest.

🌈 Something to Try Later
Before bed tonight, try “Squirrel Breathing” again. Take slow, deep breaths in and out to help you unwind and get ready for sleep.
