The Boiler Upgrade Scheme provides a grant for private residents to cover part of the cost of replacing fossil fuel heating systems with a heat pump or biomass boiler. Fossil fuel heating systems include oil, gas, electric or LPG (liquefied petroleum gas).

One grant per property is available and current grant limits are as follows:

• £7,500 towards an air source or ground source heat pumps., which can keep homes warm during the winter
• £2,500 towards an air-to-air heat pump, providing heat in the winter and to help you keep cool in the summer
• £2,500 twards heat batteries, which can store heat overnight to use in the day
