The Council has two Scrutiny Committees, the Overview & Scrutiny Committee and Housing Scrutiny Committee, to undertake the overview and scrutiny functions.
What does the Overview and Scrutiny Committee do?
The prime purpose of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee is to review items to be considered by Cabinet, to review past decisions, policy development, health and wellbeing issues, specific issues and problems within any service area.
What does the Housing Scrutiny Committee do?
Their purpose is to review and challenge the progress in respect to ensuring compliance for safety under the Social Housing (Regulation) Act and overall view on the operation and delivery of the Housing Investment Plan and the HRA. They provide assurance on the delivery of this to Cabinet (as the responsible body) on behalf of the Council.
Getting Involved
The meetings are held at the Town Hall, Royal Leamington Spa and are open to the public to attend. Meetings are also live streamed, and you can watch it live on our YouTube channel.
Live stream videos will appear five minutes before the start of the meeting, and the recording of the meeting will be kept on YouTube for later viewing.
Broadcasts of the meeting will be available for 12 months, after which, they will change to a private video.
