Paddling pool closure

It is with much sadness that Warwick District Council has made the difficult decision to close the paddling pool at Victoria Park, Leamington Spa with immediate effect. This is due to a range of technical issues.

Currently we don’t expect the pool to reopen for the rest of the school summer holidays.

The Council understands the disappointment that this will cause especially given the fine weather and is working hard with the contractors to fix the issues.

Due to the more complex nature of the construction of the St Nicholas Park paddling pool and ongoing challenges with onsite water levels, this facility will take a little longer to complete. The Council’s teams are working hard to resolve these issues, and further updates will be shared over the coming weeks.

FAQs

Why is work starting now when the pools have been closed all winter?

The design and procurement of the new paddling pools has not been without its challenges. We have worked with a water play specialist to ensure that the design and specification of these pools is right for the amount of people that will be using them, and is sympathetic to the parks they are situated in.

All of this has taken time which we appreciate will impact on usage of the pools in summer 2025, however this ensures that when they are ready to open, they are fit for purpose.
