Construction of Tachbrook Country Park is planned to be completed in early 2028

The developed design for the new park has been completed and the formal procurement process begun, making way for construction of the new Tachbrook Country Park to start later this year (2026). This milestone brings us closer to creating one of the district’s largest shared green spaces.

The new 49-hectare amenity will connect new neighbourhoods and communities to Oakley School and other public facilities planned for the area. The country park will provide accessible, sustainable green space and an array of public benefits for all ages, including a new network of paths connected to existing footpaths and cycleways, play areas, habitats for wildlife and food growing areas.

Until work is completed the public is strongly advised not to enter the land as parts of the area are unsafe underfoot, especially for young children.

Update - May 2026

We have recently undertaken some targeted grass mowing in the southern area of the Country Park last month.

This was in line with required ecological practices ahead of construction to deter ground nesting birds and reptiles away from the area which will be developed as the main path.

There will be some further mowing in the southern area of the proposed Country Park on the following Saturdays:

  • 30 May
  • 20 June
  • 11 July
  • 8 August

The purpose of this mowing is to maintain the grass in these areas at a lower level. The mowing will be confined to the same area as previous.

Drop-in sessions

The Council is inviting local people to come along to two drop-in events. This will be a chance to see the latest designs and talk to members of the project team.

These will be held on:

  • Tuesday 16 June from 3.30pm to 6.30pm at Oakley School, Quercus Way, Bishop’s Tachbrook
  • Saturday 20 June from 9.30am to 12.30pm at Heathcote Community Centre, Cressida Close, Warwick
