Barn electrical upgrade
We'll be upgrading the electrical supply to the barn in Abbey Fields over the next few weeks, to support the functioning of the Museum & Heritage Centre.
While we'll make every effort to minimise disruption to park users, there will be some occasions when the section of the path next to the toilets and playground equipment will be out of action to ensure your safety.
The work will start on Monday 23 February 2026 and is expected to last for a period of 4 weeks.
Bench repair programme
We're currently undertaking a programme of works to repair the metal benches throughout the park. These will be removed in stages to be repaired and re-painted, so you may notice that some benches will be missing from the park for a short period while the work is carried out.
New artwork around swimming pool hoarding
We've recently worked with Brink Street Art to produce this mural on the hoarding outside the swimming pool development area.
Abbey Fields Management Plan
The Abbey Fields Management Plan was approved by Cabinet on 20 September 2023.
