Play area improvements
Play area improvements enhance the quality and range of play equipment in a number of our neighbourhood parks.
Planned improvements
Mill Gardens
The refurbished Mill Gardens play area will open on Wednesday 24 December 2025.
Designed in partnership with Evergreen School with accessibility in mind, the play area also pays tribute to Leamington’s history and association with elephants, most notably The Three Graces and their connection to the River Leam.
There’s still some signage to install and picnic benches will be added early next year, but the play equipment is now ready to be enjoyed by the kids this Christmas - a great way to burn off the selection boxes!
With thanks to Royal Leamington Spa Town Council for their support.
Castle Farm
The existing Castle Farm play area will be closed from Monday 8 September 2025 and will remain so until the new installation is completed, tested and ready for use. Extensive works on site will encompass improvements to the drainage to accommodate the new play equipment, enhanced safety surfacing as well as additional provision/zoning for access needs. The following nearby facilities are available during the closure;
- Abbey Fields Play Area, Abbey Fields
- Glendale Avenue Play Area, Glendale/Redfern Avenue
- St John’s Play Area, Guy Road
- The Skate Park will remain open for use during the works.
- Access to the Leisure Centre, Scout and Guide HQ and playing fields will not be affected
