Omicron Hospitality and Leisure grant scheme
The government announced on 21 December 2021 a new business grant scheme and additional support to help eligible businesses. This scheme has now closed for applications at 5pm on 21 February 2022.
Additional restrictions grant (ARG) schemes

- Third sector support scheme
- Recovery and resilience support for Warwick District businesses
- Additional restriction (ARG) Part G - this scheme has now closed for applications
State aid and subsidy allowances
The EU state aid rules no longer apply to subsidies granted in the UK following the end of the transition period, which ended on 31 December 2020.
On 4 March 2021 new subsidy allowances were established for the Covid 19 Business grant schemes, on the basis of the principles set out in Article 3.4 of the Trade and cooperation agreement (TCA)
Covid grant scheme evaluation
As part of the Government's evaluation of the COVID-19 Business Support Grants programme Ipsos Mori are currently piloting a business survey. Over the next two months or so, around 5,000 businesses will be surveyed to understand their experiences of the programme and the impact of the grant schemes.

Retail and nursery relief for 2021/22
Following the chancellors budget on 3 March it has been announced that an extension to retail relief and nursery relief will be in place. Eligible businesses will get 100% relief from 1 April 2021 - 30 June 2021 and then it will change to 66% relief from 1 July 2021.
Please be aware that we are no longer able to backdate and apply 100% retail discount from before 1 April 2021.
If you wish to opt out of either of these reliefs being applied to your account please send an enquiry form to the business rates team, clearly stating you wish to opt out and stating your business rate reference number.
