Join us for an exciting, family-friendly event to launch Leamington’s Nature Patchwork! Free entry and open to all.
The event is a collaboration between local community groups, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust and Warwick District Council aiming to connect nature and people - one patch at a time.
What’s happening at the event
Information stalls and advice on creating wildlife friendly spaces.
Children’s activities
Children can take part in a fun trail to answer nature-themed questions and win prizes. Plus, there will be a creative table in the main hall for young artists to enjoy!
Expert Talks
Join inspiring experts every half hour for talks on how to help different species in our own gardens and green spaces. Topics include:
- 11:30am – Bats (Tricia Scott, Warwickshire Bat Group)
- 12pm – Moths (Ben Coleman, Ryton Pools Country Park)
- 12:30pm – Bees (George Humphrey, Ryton Pools Country Park)
- 1pm – Butterflies (Mike Slater, Butterfly Conservation)
- 1:30pm – Amphibians & Ponds (Ben Wood, Warwickshire Amphibian & Reptile Team)
- 2pm – Birds (Nick Martin, Warwickshire Wildlife Trust)
- 2:30pm – Hedgehogs (Sally Ellis, Warwickshire Hedgehog Rescue/Leamington Hedgehog Community)
- 3pm – Creating Habitats (Lucie Titchmarsh and Kath Pasteur, ARC)
Wildflower patch workshops
Learn how to create a wildflower patch in two special workshops at 12pm and 2pm. Places are limited, so sign up on the day with Lucy from Warwickshire Wildlife Trust’s Dunsmore Living Landscape in the main hall. Workshop participants will receive a bag of wildflower seeds (1 per family).
Competition & Prizes
Don’t miss your chance to enter our competition and win exciting nature-themed prizes! Prize winners will be picked from all those who hand in a “Pledge postcard,” describing how they intend to act for nature in their garden/accessible green space.
Refreshments
Hot and cold food, drinks and snacks available to purchase from Sydni Café throughout the event.
