Requests not involving personal data

Requests of this type will come under the Freedom of Information (FOI 2000) Act or the Environmental Information Regulations (EIR 2004.)

Everything you ask for should be about one topic. If you want to ask about more than one topic, you should make one request for each topic. Note: If you want to include a file with your request, you can attach it to the form.

For requests of this type, we will usually reply to requests within twenty days.

Requests involving personal data

Requests of this type will come under the Data Protection Act (DPA 2018).

For requests for any personal data under the Data Protection Act 2018, you are required to provide a scan or photograph of appropriate photographic identification of yourself (for example, a passport, driving license or Citizencard) for your request can be accepted by The Council. You can attach this while completing the online form. Alternatively, we will contact you directly to request this information. If you do not provide satisfactory personal identification within 14 calendar days of making your request for personal data, your request will be erased, and you will need to make a new request if you still wish for any personal data held by The Council.

For requests for others' personal data, you may be required to provide additional documentation but will be contacted by the Information Inbox with further details if this is the case.

For requests for your personal data, we will usually reply to you within one month, but we may need three months if you ask for something that takes a long time or if you have asked for a few things.

We will not usually charge you money for using these rights; however we may charge you a reasonable fee if what you are asking has no basis in fact or would take a very long time to do, or where you are asking for more copies of what you have already asked for.

You can find out more about your rights on the Warwick District Council privacy notice and the Information Commissioner's Office.
