Thursday 5 June 2025

Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum Reopening Update

Following an unforeseen temporary closure, we’re delighted to announce that Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum will reopen to the public from Tuesday 17 June 2025.

We’re excited to welcome you back with a brand-new exhibition, A Different View: Women Artists in the Collection, alongside our much-loved permanent displays in the main house and museum.

As essential roof works continue, you may notice a few changes during your visit. To protect key pieces, some items from the permanent collection have been placed into temporary storage. In their place, we’re making the most of the space to offer an engaging programme of events and activities for visitors of all ages.

While the disruption is temporary, this vital work will ensure the building and the remarkable collections it houses can be enjoyed by future generations. Preserving the fabric of the museum now means we can continue to share exhibitions, history, and creativity for many years to come.

We’re committed to keeping the gallery open and vibrant while repairs continue over the coming months. While some disruption may still occur, we’ll keep you informed of any changes or updates via our website and social media channels.

Thank you once again for your patience and support. We look forward to welcoming you back very soon.

Temporary Closure of Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum

We regret to inform you that Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum is temporarily closed due to unforeseen circumstances.

Recent adverse weather has impacted the ongoing roof repair works. As a precautionary measure, we have closed the gallery to safeguard the artworks and ensure the safety of our visitors and staff.

We understand how disappointing this will be, especially for those planning to visit during half-term. Please rest assured that we will reopen shortly – and we look forward to welcoming you to our new exhibition, A Different View: Women Artists at Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum.

We’ll provide further updates as soon as possible and sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding. Thank you for your continued support.

Update : Tuesday 6 May 2025

This week marks an exciting phase of our maintenance programme. Using the newly installed crane, we are removing much of the old and redundant plant equipment, including air handling units, from the roof. This will clear the way for the removal of the old roof covering and allow for a thorough inspection of the roof.

Update: Tuesday 22 April 2025

A new crane has been installed on the Pump Rooms Garden side of the site compound. It will be used to take old plant off and put new plant on to the roof. The crane will be in this position for several weeks.

Update: Tuesday 8 April 2025

The site compound for the contractors is now complete and preliminary investigation work has been conducted.

Update: Wednesday 5 March 2025

We’re carrying out essential repairs to the roof of The Royal Pump Rooms to help preserve and protect this historic space. The work is scheduled to begin soon, but rest assured that Visitor Information Centre, Library, The Larder Café, Leamington Spa Art Gallery & Museum, the Box Office, and Warwick District Council’s Front-Line Services will remain open as usual.

What to expect:

  • Scaffolding around the building
  • Some noise during working hours
  • No impact on business opening hours

We appreciate your understanding as we make these necessary improvements. Stay tuned for updates!
