Leamington’s bubbling with creative talent and we want to offer a space for it to be shouted about. We want CreativeMornings to be somewhere you can hear people talking about their failures as easily as their successes, somewhere that collaborations and conversations can begin at our monthly encounters and continue in the weeks between. Somewhere you get that hit of inspiration we all need from time to time. We want CreativeMornings to be the first date in your diary for the next month.
Warwick District U3A (University of the Third Age) Events
If you are retired or semi-retired and live in Leamington, Warwick or surrounding areas, they can offer you the opportunity to participate in a wide range of enjoyable social, intellectual and physical activities. The U3A is not a university in the formal sense: no qualifications are necessary or obtained, but learning and social interaction are a good way to keep fit mentally, physically and socially. They have many interest groups covering subjects to keep both mind and body active, from languages to science and culture, from walking to indoor and outdoor games. They hold an Open Meeting each month, which is an opportunity to socialise and find out about the different interest groups
Leamington Studio Artists
Leamington Studio Artists, based at East Lodge in Jephson Gardens, Leamington Spa, is run entirely by volunteers. Its aim is to foster and increase the public interest, awareness and appreciation of the visual arts. The membership of LSA includes artists working in a wide range of media: painters, ceramicists, photographers, jewellers, etc. LSA has been writing, publishing and distributing its journal, ArtSpace, since 1998. In 2014, LSA founded Art in the Park, an annual, free, arts festival based in Jephson Gardens. East Lodge, which is on the banks of the River Leam, also houses artist studios. LSA keeps in touch with its members and supporters through monthly newsletters and through Facebook and Twitter. If you love art and if you enjoy exhibitions and meeting other artists or seek exhibition and other opportunities to develop and promote your work then join them.
