The Big Victorian Picnic in the Pump Room Gardens is shaping up to be a superb day of entertainment for local people.

The free event on Saturday 8 June which is being organised by Warwick District Council, has already captured huge interest on social media. With a packed programme of entertainment, stalls and activities now in place the momentum is   building for a big celebration to mark the completion of the restoration work to the gardens. 

With an emphasis on locally grown talent and produce the entertainment will include live performances on the bandstand from Joe Dolman, Emilie Lauren Jones, Blind Faith, Chris Jenner Jones, Jazz Apples and Levi Washington as well as a range of themed crafts and food and drink outlets from cocktails, gin and cupcakes, to a spit roast, local brewery, patisserie, Victorian sweets and chocolates, vintage clothing, ceramics, candles, cycles and even a dog show!   

In addition, there will be Victorian-fete style activities such as hoola-hoops, as well as Punch and Judy, face-painting and pottery making.  

Warwick District Council’s head of Neighbourhood Services, Robert Hoof commented;

“Following the recent success of EcoFest the Green Spaces team is working hard to create an event for the whole community to enjoy. So get your blanket, chairs and picnic at the ready, because we have a real treat in store.”
