Government grants to small business and the retail, hospitality and leisure industry
The Government has announced a range of cash grant payments to small businesses and also to those businesses in the retail, leisure and hospitality sectors to support them during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Discretionary grant fund
Warwick District Council has been allocated £1.7m by Government to support prioritised businesses across the district, that were ineligible for other Covid-19 Government grants including Small Business Grants Fund and the Retail, Hospitality and Leisure Grants fund.
Visit the Discretionary grant fund page for how to apply.
Small business and retail, leisure & hospitality grants
Local authorities have been asked to administer these cash grants and have today received the further guidance from Central Government on how to operate this scheme. As at today, the Council is working flat out to ascertain what mechanisms it needs to put in place to get the grant to the businesses that qualify as quickly as possible. This process will take a few days however. Rest assured that businesses will receive the money into their bank accounts without any unnecessary delay, but it is vital that we do this correctly so that the right amount of money is paid to the right business and the right bank account.
We have sent letters and e-mails to all eligible businesses, containing the necessary information and a link to complete the online form, which will enable us to pay the appropriate grants. We hope to be in a position to begin making payments the week commencing 6 April.
The brief qualifying conditions for the grants are below.
