We are currently experiencing intermittent issues with taking payments through our website. We are working with our supplier to resolve this as soon as possible. Apologies for any inconvenience.

We are delighted to invite you to a one-day symposium, which aims to turn creative talk into creative action, and galvanise our creative business community around a common purpose; promotion and growth of the sector.

Hear about and be inspired by just some of the exciting organisations, projects, and initiatives in the area – and tell us about your work and your plans for the future.

Connect with people and immerse yourself in discussions and debates on topical themes for the sector. Be introduced to upcoming opportunities in the District and beyond.

And while you are here, experience some of the area’s very best art and culture via a programme of performances and exhibitions throughout the day.

We hope you can join us on what promises to be a hugely exciting, useful, and insightful day.

Who’s the Event for?

If you work in or are interested in any of the following, then this is for you; craft, film, TV, video, radio, photography, museums, galleries, libraries, music, performing arts, visual arts, advertising and marketing, architecture, gaming, product design, graphic design, fashion, IT software and service, and publishing.

The event will largely focus on Warwick District, but is open to anyone who wants to find out more about the area’s creative scene and how they can help celebrate, promote, and grow the sector.

Why is this Event Happening Now?

It’s widely accepted by the sector* that there is a wealth of creativity in the area – but a lack of connectivity between creatives and creative organisations. Spark aims to connect people, celebrate creativity in the area, and ignite new collaborations. We know it’s not going to solve all of these challenges, but we believe it’s a step in the right direction.

*Earlier this year, the Council commissioned BOP Consulting, an international consultancy specialising in culture and the creative economy, to explore the scale and impact of the cultural and creative sector in Warwick District. You can read the full report here.

What’s the Programme?

The day’s content is structured around five core themes; Voice, placemaking, pathfinding, engagement, and innovation, and will be presented via a series of presentations, workshops, discussions, networking opportunities, and performances and exhibitions.

Can I get Involved?

You can get involved (for FREE!) in a number of ways:

  • Promotional Stall
We will provide a limited number of small tables for individuals and organisations to promote their creative business in our market place. We welcome pull-up banners, leaflet, and your merchandise. Power can be provided on request if you would like to bring electronic devices. Contact Carole.Sleight@warwickdc.gov.uk to find out more.

  • Panel Discussions
We will have a number of discussions throughout the day. Keep an eye on the programme as it develops and let us know if you can contribute to any of the discussions. We’d love to have you on a panel. The deadline for expressions of interest is Friday 24 January 2020.

  • Content for Delegate Packs
We are keen to promote you and your organisation, and are happy to include information in our delegate packs on your behalf.

  • Films and Photos
Have a promotional film (under three minutes long) about your organisation or projects? We’re building a show reel, which we play on our screens throughout the day. Deadline for submissions is 12pm, Thursday 30 January.
