Coronavirus alert

National lockdown rules apply in England. Stay at home.

Coronavirus information

Our priority remains the health and safety of residents, visitors and staff. Whilst the parks will remain open, we are suspending all exercise permits for group activities

While all the district’s public parks and open spaces remain open, everyone from families with teenagers to dog walkers need to adhere to the rules and guidelines which have been put in place by the government to protect the NHS and save lives during this national emergency;

  • Stay local and use open spaces near to your home where possible – do not travel unnecessarily
  • Keep at least 2 metres apart from anyone outside your household at all times
  • If you have a garden, make use of the space for exercise and fresh air
  • Take hygiene precautions when you are outside, and wash your hands as soon as you are back indoors

You can spend time in an outdoor public place for exercise or recreation either alone or with:

  • members of your household and/or support bubble
  • one other person, plus any children under five
  • children you are informally caring for as part of a childcare bubble

There is no limit to the amount of time you can spend outside for exercise.

Play Areas

Play areas can remain open. Please ensure you follow safe social distancing and follow the below safety information to allow everyone the chance to enjoy them:

  • No food or drink in the play areas
  • 10 minutes per piece of equipment
  • Only family groups to use the equipment together
  • Do not touch your face and clean your hands after playing on each piece of equipment
  • Follow public health guidance for hygiene
  • Please wait in a safe space until the item you want to use is free
  • If the area is busy, please come back later
  • Do not play or attend the park if you are self-isolating
