EU Settlement Scheme
If you're an EU, EEA or Swiss citizen, you and your family can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme to continue living in the UK after 30 June 2021.
- Apply to the EU Settlement Scheme (settle and pre-settled status)
- EU Settlement Scheme: community support for vulnerable citizens
The EU Settlement Scheme is open. You can apply now if you meet the criteria.
The deadline for applying is 30 June 2021. You must usually have started living in the UK by 31 December 2020.
Scanning your documents
You cannot currently make an appointment to scan your ID document because of coronavirus (COVID-19). You can scan your document and upload your photo using the ‘EU Exit: ID Document Check’ app using an Android phone, or an iPhone 7 or above.
The postal route for submitting Identity evidence is currently suspended. We are unable to accept any documents by post at this time, but all documents already sent to us will be returned as quickly as possible. Applications can still be made online using the “EU Exit ID Document check” app.
Additional support is available to those EU citizens in the UK who do not have the appropriate access, skills or confidence to apply online through Assisted Digital, which can offer assistance over the phone. Communications materials have been translated into 26 languages and alternative formats which can also be requested.
Settlement Resolution Centre
The Settlement Resolution Centre (SRC) will no longer be answering telephone calls. It will, however, continue to respond to email enquiries which can be made via the online contact form and provide a call back function when required.
