Temporary Extended Construction Working Hours

On 13th May 2020 the government published a written ministerial statement on planning and construction working hours.

The ministerial statement expects local planning authorities to approve requests from developers to extend construction working hours temporarily to facilitate safe working and allow tasks to be completed in line with social distancing guidelines. 

Requests to extend hours until 9pm, Monday to Saturday, should be approved unless there are very compelling reasons against this.

Requests for changes to working hours will be reviewed and Environmental Protection will be consulted.  Environmental Protection may get in touch with you if further information is required.

A decision will be issued within 10 workings days of receipt of the completed request form.
