This form has a maximum of 6 pages

  • If you are the only adult person living in a property you may qualify for a 25% reduction in your council tax.
  • An adult is someone over 18. In certain circumstances persons over 18 can be disregarded.
  • If after completing this declaration form, you cease to be the sole adult occupier of the property, you must notify the council within 21 days.
  • The council will undertake regular reviews, and failure to notify the council of a change in circumstance, or claiming a discount which you’re not entitled to, is an offence and could result in a penalty of £70 or a criminal prosecution.

Where the law permits, we will share this information with other council departments, Government departments, public bodies and private organisations. We will do so for the assessment and collection of taxes, to prevent and detect fraud and to undertake statutory public functions.
