Coronavirus information and advice

What is a Coronavirus key worker and what does that mean?

These are defined for local and national government as:

This only includes those administrative occupations essential to the effective delivery of the COVID-19 response, or delivering essential public services, such as the payment of benefits, including in government agencies and arm’s length bodies.

The Local Government Association definition is:

  • Workers delivering key frontline services
  • Staff involved in the management of the deceased
  • Administrative staff in local government essential to the delivery of the COVID-19 response
  • Staff delivering essential public services such as payment of benefits

If you are defined as a key worker, and if your child cannot be at home due to your work, then an educational provision will be available for them.
