Dumped rubbishFly-tipping is illegal. Individuals can now be fined on the spot – £110 just for putting their black bin bag out on the wrong day – and the maximum fine for serious fly tipping is £50,000.

Report fly-tipping

If possible, please include:

  • The date, time, and place of occurrence (you can use a postcode finder to help with address details, or plot the issue on a map)
  • The vehicle type, colour, and registration
  • A brief description of the person fly-tipping
  • A photo of the fly-tipping, this can be uploaded on the form

Report the fly tipping incident to the council, even if you were not able to take these details.

Fly-tipping located on private land

Fly-tipping on private land, for example, someone's garden, is the responsibility of the landowner.

We will not remove fly-tipping from private land.

Safety advice

Some fly-tippers may become violent. You should not approach them. Only approach the site when you are sure it is safe to do so. Some waste is hazardous. Do not touch anything.
