Area Community Learning Partnership for Warwick District
What does it do?
The Area Community Learning Partnership (ACLP) for Warwick District is a voluntary network of like-minded organisations who share a common belief in the virtues of learning and the benefits of collaboration where this is most appropriate. It aims to provide a co-ordinated approach to meeting the needs of learners within Warwick District, to avoid duplication and to maximise resources through partnership working.
How was it set up?
The ACLP was formed in 2003, to foster the broad range of learning opportunities available, and to bring greater cohesion to the work of the various agencies, organisations and institutions which serve to meet the learning needs of all people in the area.
Key Themes
The ACLP believes in 'a total learning community', where everyone, regardless of age or life circumstances has the opportunity to engage in learning. This will bring benefits to individuals, families, communities, the economy and the environment.
What have we done so far?
Partner agencies work throughout Warwick District to ensure that people have opportunities to learn close to where they work or live.
The ACLP has been extremely supportive of the development of extended services and children's centres within the district. Both enhance access to services for children and families and provide a joined up approach to what is needed locally.
Focus for the next 12 months
Partners will continue to work to avoid duplication within the statutory and voluntary and community sectors.
