A Shared Vision
Warwick's new Sustainable Community Strategy (2.88mb, PDF) entitled 'A Shared Vision' encompasses a broad range of aims that will improve the quality of life of residents within the district.
Priority Themes and delivery Plans
Whilst work on other issues will continue, Warwick Partnership has decided that over the next 3 years it will prioritise collaborative activity on those issues where it needs to make significant improvements, and they fall with these 4 priority themes:-
- Safer Communities
- Health and Well Being
- Housing
- Economy, Skills and Employment
The lead officers for each theme are currently working with key partners, groups, individuals and relevant service providers in developing delivery plans for each theme which will identify the actions required to make progress and measurable targets against which impacts can be determined.
Cross Cutting Approaches
Each delivery plan will be scrutinised to ensure it addresses the following cross cutting themes:-
- Narrowing the Gaps
- Embedding sustainability throughout which must be explicitly explained - this must include environmental impacts
- Families at risk
- Engaging and strengthening communities including community cohesion
- Rurality
Targeted Geographic Areas
In line with the Warwickshire Local Area Agreement adopted by County and District public agencies, and the focus on levels of deprivation in key areas, the following wards have been targeted for 'Narrowing the Gaps' activities:
- Brunswick
- Crown
- West Warwick
You can download the locality profiles for more information on these areas.
The town centres of Kenilworth, Warwick and Leamington are also a focus to underpin and develop economic activity.
